"My son Eric had studied Cantonese here in Transfiguration Chinese School for 9 years. Like other parents in the school, we spend every Sunday travelling from other boroughs to come to Manhattan Chinatown for Chinese School. I chose Transfiguration Chinese School for its teaching and tradition and experience. The location of our Chinese School allows us to pass by the Chinese restaurants, stores, observe the Chinese markets and community events on Sundays; especially Chinese New Year every Februrary. The two boys in my family get to share my experinece in celebrating our traditional Chinese New Year. I am convinced we as a family benefitted from the language curriculum combined with the experience [of] coming to Chinatown.
