" My daughter was 4 years old when she took the Pre-K Mandarin class on Saturdays from 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM for one year at the Transfiguration Chinese School. She walked in on her first day not knowing much basic mandarin words. On the last day of class, she walked out knowing Mandarin counting, various basic words i.e., hello and goodbye (which she now uses daily), names of the parts of a human head, primary colors, Chinese songs and she even learned how to use chopsticks! Teacher Hua has a calm, pleasant demeanor and great patience with her students. If you want your child to learn Mandarin (or any other secondary language), I suggest you start them young. Learning at an early age is much easier for children. Once they get older, and if it's not part of their regular routine, it's much tougher for them to learn or they may even be adverse to trying. I highly recommend Transfiguration Chinese School as the place for your child to attend!" -- Nancy Huie [Proud parent of Alyssa F.]
