"My daughter, Corinna is attending the Mandarin Beginner Class at Transfiguration Chinese School. She loves to come to class every Saturday. From the very first class, we quickly understood why Transfiguration is a wonderful place to bring beginner Chinese learning into any young child's life. Transfiguration utilizes a multi-sensory programmatic methodology that captures the kids and ensures their interests in learning. During classes Corinna and her classmates learn to speak Mandarin by singing songs and following teacher's easy-to-follow pronunciations. In addition to homework, the school gave her audio CD's which allows her to listen to class material at home. Moreover, students get to participate in singing performances during the school's Family Fair Days and Moving Up ceremonies. This educational approach is much appreciated by my husband, myself as well as many other parents.
While Transfiguration Chinese School's teaching methods are fun and sensory enhancing to its young pupils, its academic evaluation process and communication/reporting channels are set at traditional standards. At the end of each school term, students are tested for their Chinese speaking, reading, and writing skills and report cards are distributed to them with teacher's encouraging comments. I thank the teachers for their kindness, patient, and professionalism. All personnel at Transfiguration Chinese School including the principal, teachers, and teacher's aides are accessible by parents and easy to talk to.
I am glad to have sent Coirnna to this school as I believe my daughter is in good hands with her beginner Chinese learning. Transfiguration Chinese School will help to build a solid foundation of the Chinese language in her as she grows and matures with her bilingual communication skills.
