"Learning Chinese is my way to make sure Ruby (夏 雪瑩) never forgets her roots. We chose Transfiguration School because it has amazing teachers and it is located in Chinatown where old and young generations of Chinese people mingle.
My father never taught me Chinese when I grew up in France.
At age 15, I had promised myself that one day, when I have children, this mistake will never happen to them, that they will speak Chinese. Today, Ruby is 7 and speaks fluently Chinese and French. Gevan (夏 仁 瀚) her 4 yr old brother, will join her in September.
